Four days in autumnal Brünn
Herbstliches Brünn: Die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer der Herbstreise 2023 mit Organisatorin Dagmar Steinmetz (5.v.l.) und BCI-Präsidentin Pia Kollmar (7.v.l.).
This year’s short fall trip took the members of BierConvent International to the Czech Republic’s secret capital of enjoyment
Brünn showed the participants of the BCI’s 2023 fall trip its best side. A varied program, good food and a lively exchange ensured that the four days flew by.
Brünn is a city with many faces and ideal for a short trip. Accordingly, the participants of this year’s autumn trip of BierConvent International e.V. (BCI) were treated to a varied program of culture, culinary highlights and Moravian joie de vivre.
The event began on Thursday evening with a get-together in the lobby bar of the Hotel International, followed by dinner in the traditional Poupé beer house – accompanied by suitable beers, of course, and a brief introduction to the history of brewing.
The next day, the participants had the opportunity to get some fresh air on a walk through the city before continuing with a tour of the historic water reservoirs on the Yellow Mountain and a visit to Spilberk Castle. The day was rounded off with dinner at Restaurant Jakoby. And those who still had energy left went for a nightcap in the nearby “bar that doesn’t exist”.
Brünn is known for its brewing culture, but lies in the middle of the South Moravian wine-growing region. Lednice Castle is also located here – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an attraction in the region. In the afternoon, there was plenty of time to explore the area by boat, carriage and on foot. Dinner was then served at a winery – including wine tasting and accompanied by Moravian cimbalom music.
The next day, the group visited the famous Bauhaus Villa Tugendhat before returning home with many new impressions in their luggage.
The next friendship meeting with general assembly and enthronement will take place in Bamberg in May 2024.
